MS Excel is a unique decision support system and provides various formulas and functions to solve business and financial problems. However you would need to learn how to use functions like PV, FV, PMT, RATE, NPER to do time value of money calculations. Each of these functions may be used in different context to compute things such a payment on a loan, ending balance of a savings account, principal on a loan, the term of loan, present value factor, future value factor, present and future value of an annuity, and annuity due or a growing annuity, net present value, internal rate of return, profitability index, modified internal rate of return. Yet in some cases one would have to program Excel to find Payback Period. Here we provide Excel templates and Excel calcuclators that let you use most of these functions, these templates and calculators are easy to configure and may be reused if done properly.
